Criminal justice reform needed

His name is Mike, and he showed up one day on my doorstep urgently claiming that he could assist with the ongoing re-planting of my yard. I could not deny that work was underway, and I firmly believe that anyone who wants to work, should be able to. So I gave him some work around my property. Over the course of a few weeks, I learned that he had once owned and operated his own gardening and home repair company, and had a truck, clients and a family. And then, shortly after getting to know Mike, he went to prison. Eventually, he served his time and was released. But, like many ex-offenders, he was placed on parole.
